The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, will on Friday, November 18, 2016, host the 4th Agricultural Policy Research Seminar, themed; Growth Enhancement Scheme (GES) of Nigerian Agricultural Transformation Agenda: Looking Back and Thinking Ahead.
The event, which is being organized by the Agricultural Policy Research Network (APRNet) in collaboration with International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI-Nigeria) is expected to attract professionals and stakeholders in the Nigerian agriculture sector.
The objectives of the Research and policy seminars according to the organizers are to:
• Disseminate knowledge, evidence, data and other findings from scientific research and transmit same to a critical mass of agricultural stakeholders through an iterative process of intellectual dialogue and collegial critique;
• Provide a platform for the Nigerian agricultural community to interact through intellectual discussions; and
• Examine, including through comparative perspectives, policy measures and interventions required for the transformation of the nation’s agricultural sector.
The symposium is also planned to bring together major stakeholders in Nigerian agricultural policy making, academia and industry.
