In an effort to achieve food security in the state of Kogi, Synergos Nigeria, with the support of the State Partnership for Agriculture (SPA), has launched a new state investment plan (AIP) for the state.
The head of agriculture, Technoserve Nigeria, Dr. Abdulrahman Danbaba, spoke about this at a meeting on the topic “AIP and calendar calendar overview” in Lokoja.
During the conference, Dunbaba said the plan was driven by the need to support and guide the state government to promote investment in the agricultural sector.
According to him, “a state that does not have an agricultural plan is like a ship and a captain without a compass. This plan is supposed to give direction. ”
Member of the National Agricultural Extension Research Services, University of Ahmadou Bello (ABU), Zaria, Professor Paul Bolorunduro, in his comments stated that the development is in line with the directive of the Comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Program (CAADP), which made it mandatory for African countries to develop their approved insurance providers (AIPs).
Bolorunduro said that this would help investors find out the potential, opportunities and picture of the possible dividends of their investments.
He also advised stakeholders at the meeting to co-opt the AIP document into the platform of the State Bureau for Public-Private Partnership (BPPP) to attract investors.
