Nwoye Promises To Entrench Veritable Agric Policy In Anambra

The All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in Anambra State, Dr. Tony Nwoye, has promised to entrench an agricultural policy in the state that would help the people of Anambra State develop their agricultural interests to commercial levels using resources from local and international development institutions.

Nwoye, according to a statement by his campaign organisation, vowed to replace the present regime of deceit that has become the mainstay of the Willie Obiano administration with concrete efforts that would develop the farmers and farms in the state.

The campaign organisation in the statement issued by chairman of media sub-committee, Mr Nonso Madu, challenged the Obiano government to show where in the state it harvested the Ugu and Onugbu the government claimed to have exported in January 2016.

He said: “Obiano while meeting with Ndi Anambra in July 2016 in Transcorp Hotel was quoted by newspapers to have said his government exported $5 million worth of vegetables. Now, he should show us where the vegetables were grown.

It is most insensitive for a governor to tell lies. “Even worse agricultural institutions and development partners who ordinarily should assist our farmers will not as they have been told by our government that they are doing well.

“Under a Tony Nwoye administration, our felt needs would be showcased to developmental institutions who would be encouraged to partner with the state to enhance the agricultural output of the state.”
