NKST Reaffirms Its Support On November 1st Benue Anti-Open Grazing Law Implementation

48 hours to the implementation of the November 1st Benue Anti-open Grazing Law, the NKST Universal Reformed Christian Church worldwide has reaffirmed its support in the implementation of the law.

This was made known by the leadership of the NKST worldwide Rev. Ayohol Ate and the State chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria CAN rev.Akpen Leva during a press briefing at the NUJ house in makurdi where they condemned and described the hate speech made by miyetti Allah kautal Hore (MAKH) as inflammatory and capable of causing war.

“as a concerned Religious group and a major stakeholder in the state, the church has suspect a hidden agenda in the open statement which the association boastfully declared that herdsmen must converge on Benue borders from November to thwart the implementation of the law.

We wonder why this statements were made right under the watch of the Federal government and up till now no one has been arrested or call to oder, the worst of it is that they also call on President Muhammadu Buhari to direct relevant security agencies to closely monitor the activities of the Benue State governor against the herdsmen”

The Religious group in its recommendations noted that the Benue Valley land is even insufficient for indigenous farmers and can not afford to share with the cattle rearers.

“in every part of the world now, what is being practiced is ranching, which is the only way to forestall the infiltration of herdsmen and their cattle to avoid further killings and destruction of farmlands”

The group also called on the Federal government rise up to the opportunity of ranching law in the state to promote and improved trade in the Benue valley to boost the economy of the state and livelihood of famers.

” we the NKST Universal Reformed Christian Church Worldwide is solidly behind the implementation of the Anti-Open Grazing Law and we are saying that, nothing should be done to reduce it full force of prosecuting defaulters come November 1st 2017.”
