The families of five of the seven persons kidnapped by militants, Sunday, in Kodjo Farm, located at Igbodu, Epe area of Lagos State, said, yesterday, that the kidnappers had demanded N20 million ransom.
According to one of the family members, who spoke to Vanguard on condition of anonymity, the kidnappers had contacted them by phone, and allegedly demanded for the said sum for five of the kidnap victims.
It could be recalled that no fewer than 20 militants, Sunday, stormed the area and abducted seven persons. One of the victims of the kidnap incident was said to be a 65-year-old security guard at the farm, Kakaja Joseph.
The four other victims were said to be poultry farmers. The rest two were travellers, who were also taken when the attackers blocked the road linking the area.
This is coming on the heels of a recent kidnap incident in the area where, on November 15, gunmen dressed in military uniform, numbering over 40, invaded a farm at Epe, Igbodu-Isiwo Road and whisked four poultry farmers away.
