Kebbi wants EU to reduce subsidy on agric production

0

The governor of Kebbi, Abubakar Atiku Bagood, appealed to the European Union (EU) and Oxfam for the reduction of subsidies for agricultural products.

Governor Bagudu said that this would enable the crops produced in the country to compete favorably with the cultures of the outside world.

Bagudu appealed when he received delegates from the EU and Oxfam at the government house in Birnin Kebbi, adding that the request made in these two organizations was to encourage people of Nigeria and African countries to leave Europe not by their choice, but not by necessity. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the programs and activities of the EU and Oxfam in order to achieve the desired impact on agricultural production in the state.

He expressed satisfaction with the EU and Oxfam intervention programs in the three local state authorities, Byrnin Kebbi, Dzhega and Danko / Wasagu.

Earlier, the head of the EU delegation, Mr. Tomitio Omol, praised the government of Bagood for his leadership style and noted that the administration is making a lot of efforts to put the state on the path of progress.
