Kebbi, Daily Trust To Hold Agric Exhibition/Interactive Forum For Farmers


Kebbi Daily Trust Agric Exhibition, The Kebbi State Government, in collaboration with Media Trust Limited, publishers of the Daily Trust newspapers, is to hold a one-day farmers interactive forum and exhibition with the theme ‘Agriculture As Solution to the Economic and Social Programmes of Nigeria.’

The event is expected to hold in Birnin Kebbi on February 26.

The Kebbi State Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Abdullahi Dandiga, disclosed this to journalists in Birnin Kebbi during a briefing on the activities of his ministry.

He said based on the achievements recorded in the advocacy on the importance of dry season farming, the state government decided to collaborate with Daily Trust newspapers on the need to interact with farmers in the state.

He added that the state government has engaged additional 40,000 farmers in dry season rice farming in the state.

The commissioner said this year’s dry season rice farming would be another milestone to showcase the capacity of Kebbi State in rice production.

He said since the inception of the present administration, about 70,000 rice farmers have been engaged in dry season farming and that an additional 40,000 would be engaged this year.
