Chi Farms Limited, a subsidiary of TGI Group, in partnership with ZOETIS, intends to put into operation a state-of-the-art veterinary care center in Ibadan, Oyo.
Commissioning is scheduled for September 12.
The project, which was carried out as part of the ZOETIS Initiative for Agricultural Productivity and Better Animal Health (A.L.P.H.A.), aims to create sustainable networks of veterinary diagnostics and animal health infrastructure in Nigeria and other parts of Africa. He will also carry out scientific research programs, provide quality diagnostic products, medicines and vaccines, as well as conduct genetic tests, bio-devices and a number of other animal care services.
According to the country's leadership, Zoetis / ALPHA, Mr. Joshua Olorungembemi, the technical potential of ZOETIS as the world leader in healthy lifestyle put them in the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which are co-financiers of the ALPHA initiative. "We are committed to supporting a similar laboratory network in Nigeria so that farmers have access to veterinary diagnostic services," he said.
Chi Farms Limited CEO, Dr Tongji Olaytan said that, although Chi Farms stands at the top of the Nigerian poultry industry as the most viable and successful integrator with parents for both meat and lines, the organization is gradually evolving to consistently offer Nigerian farmers-elderly products and services.
According to him, the choice of CHI Farms as one of the two performers of the A.L.P.A.H.A project from ZOETIS is a welcome development. The organization is always ready to form alliances with similar minds to create value for our farmers and, ultimately, the nation.
He further stated that "with the help of ZOETIS, providing technical knowledge, as well as materials and equipment necessary for training and learning, combined with our own experience, capabilities and capabilities, the impact of this project will be carried out."
