Early this year the Food Connection Challenge called upon SMEs in Nigeria to submit their innovative ideas to reduce post – harvest losses, selected participants benefited from workshops, trainings and innovation coaching to improve their business ideas. The event also availed participating entrepreneurs in agribusiness the opportunity to network with key players and angel investors in the agrifood value chain in Nigeria.

The grand finale of the event ‘’Food connection challenge’’ was hosted by the Netherlands Embassy in conjunction with Crosswise works on the 29th of November 2018. The four finalists who made it to the final stage were; Victor Ojoro Kitchen (Boyle-Komolafe), Soupah Kitchen (Ifeoluwa Olatayo), Fourteen Farms (Akinremi Julian) and Smily’z Mobile Kitchen (Ogala Lois Kange), the finalists pitched their creative ideas to the audience and the jury members. The prize winners of the day “Soupah Kitchen (Ifeoluwa Olatayo) & Smily’z Mobile Kitchen (Ogala Lois Kange)’’ were excited to receive a funding of € 20,000 each with a trip to the Netherlands.
