ABUJA – A firm, Eden Moringa and Allied Agricultural Products, has said that it is targeting the generation of N7 billion annually from the sale of Moringa products.
Speaking at a media briefing in Abuja, National President of Eden Moringa, Mr Michael Ashimashiga, said the products of the medicinal plant are high in demand in countries such as Hungary, Canada, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, among others.
Ashimashiga, therefore urged Nigerian farmers to embrace the cultivation of Moringa plants, adding that its cultivation is more lucrative than the cultivation of rice or any other staple crop.
He described Moringa as a “miraculous crop created by God,” adding that it contains 38 essential nutrients for the healthy growth and development of the human body.
He said: “We are offering billions of Moringa seeds for intending farmers with available plots of farmlands across the 774 local government areas in Nigeria.
“We are in search of Moringa leaves and seeds as raw materials base for production, packaging and export.”
He, therefore, urged farmers to partner with the firm for mass production of Moringa to create jobs, generate wealth and reduce poverty in the country.
Also speaking, Dr. Shuaibu Adamu, National Coordinator of Eden Moringa, said the company has been licensed to export Moringa products to any parts of the world.
Adamu said some of the products of Moringa include moringa tea, oil, powder and cake.
