Chafer Adds Updates To Trailed Sprayer Line-up

Sprayer specialist Chafer has upgraded to its range of trailed Sentry and Guardian sprayers with a new plumbing system and improved boom suspension.

Available in the spring, the new boom suspension assembly offers improved contour control that allows the boom to hug the ground below 50cm even when running on the largest diameter wheels.

The new sliding frame design is equipped with an additional set of sealed bearing rollers giving a greater range of travel and improving crop clearance under the mast while isolating the boom from tramline wobbles.

The reaction time of the lift and lower hydraulic functions have also been reduced, the company claims.

The advanced ePlumbing system has been updated to use Canbus valves that gives operators live-feed information of the valve’s status and position, ideal for automatic filling and rinsing.

Chafer says the ePlumbing alerts the operator if a valve does not reach its target position, therefore removing the chance of cross contamination.

The steering system on “e” spec models does away with a potentiometer and linkage between the tractor and the sprayer and now has sensors mounted to the sprayer itself.

The new set up increases steering sensitivity with extra room around the mudguards so the steering still works with the largest tyres fitted, the company claims.
