Brigadier General. Abdulamalik Biu, acting general officer, commander of the 7th division, said that the rebels attacked a group of people harvesting the remaining agricultural products and killed two of them.

The Nigerian Army on Saturday reported that two people were killed by Boko Haram militants in the village of Kuva-Yanveva on Maiduguri-Damboa Road in Borno.
Brigadier General. Abdulamalik Biu, acting general officer, commander of the 7th division, said that the rebels attacked a group of people harvesting the remaining agricultural products and killed two of them.
Biu said that the troops deployed in the area rushed to the scene when one of the women victims informed them.
The commander said that he visited the scene of the attack to assess the situation, adding that normality had been restored in the area.
He said: “Some people went to the farm, and the militants of Boko Haram attacked them, they killed an elderly person and youth.
“The wife of an elderly man ran and told the troops, who rushed into place to save them. The rebels fled, seeing the approaching troops.
"Only two people were killed and were not kidnapped as a result of the attack."
However, the reports indicated that rebels killed six farmers and kidnapped eight others who were harvesting.
The witness, Rachel Hassan, said that about a dozen rebels armed with weapons attacked them while working at the farm during the day.
Speaking about her ordeals, Rachel said that the rebels had separated women from men and asked them to return home.
She said: “I hired someone displaced from the IDPs of Bakassi to work on my farm.
"The rebels came and gathered us in one place, they asked the women to go and get hold of men."
Rachel said that some of the corpses were cut into pieces, adding that she reported this to the GRA police station.
Malam Ahmad Salis, a relative of one of the victims, said that his brother and 11 other farmers in the Maduganari Maiduguri district went to work in their farms in the morning.
Salisu said that the rebels attacked farmers from different sides and killed them.
He said: “So far, we have returned four bodies from the farms, and eight others have been lost or stolen by the rebels.”
Another victim, Aisha Vaziri, said her neighbors reported that her husband was killed by rebels on the farm.
