Anambra’s commissioner for agriculture, mechanization, processing and export, Afam Mbanefo has assured farmers in the state of the government’s continued assistance to through the provision of specialized hybrid farm inputs.
Mbanefo stated this at Neni, Anaocha Local Government area, during the continuation of the disbursement of 2017 farm inputs by the Ministry to farmers in the council area, saying the input will guarantee bumper harvest and stimulate economic growth and food security in the state.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Leo Imoka, the commissioner said the gesture was to fulfill Governor Obiano’s earlier promise to the farmer in the state of supplying them with specialized farm inputs for improved results during harvesting.
He appealed to the farmers to make maximum use of the inputs, assuring that the fertilizer has been highly subsidized by the state government for the farmers.
Earlier, the Transition Committee Chairman, Anaocha local Government area, Ikeobi Ejiofor, said the exercise was in tandem with the state government’s Agricultural blue print of revolutionalizing the sector.
