Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, yesterday, presented N215million cheques and farm inputs to farmers in the state.
The gesture was under the Fadama 3 Additional Financing Project.
Akeredolu said in Akure during the ceremony that his administration would not relent in its determination to encourage more people, especially youths, to embrace agriculture as an alternative and reliable source of wealth creation.
He assured farmers in the state of a brighter future.
The governor asked the beneficiaries, who are expected to spend the money on the cultivation of about 2,000 hectares of land for the production of rice and cassava, to use the money for the purpose for which it was meant.
He said government is determined to create jobs through agriculture, entrepreneurship and industrialization.
