The Nigeria Britain Association 2018 Annual lecture provides a platform to lend our voice to the national desire to shift focus and attention to agriculture and reposition it as the bedrock of Nigeria’s economy.
The seminar, which is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 21st of March at the Agip Recital Hall, Muson Center, Onikan, Lagos, is designed for professionals at mid to senior levels, budding agropreneurs, and persons who wish to understand the Agricultural eco-system with a view to making it a source of income and livelihood.
According to Funmi Onabolu, President N-BA, the seminar will open the eyes of participants to the vast range of opportunities that present themselves to professionals of different disciplines to see their relevance in the Agricultural value chain, way beyond just planting and harvesting. These include Food Preservation; Food Processing; Agric Technology; Agric Engineering/tools; Exporting; Agricultural logistics and transportation; Agricultural Economists; Researchers, etc.
The ultimate take-out from the seminar would be that professionals in different areas are better able to see the opportunities in the Agricultural value chain and how their skills can be put to use to give them economic advantage, financial independence, and to transform their lives and the Agricultural landscape of Nigeria.
Speakers expected at the event include: Mr. Bismarck Rewane – CEO, Financial Derivatives Company, Mr. Antti Ritvonen – Country Manager, Dizengoff, and representatives from the Bank of Agriculture, Nigerian Export Promotion Council and Nigeria Agricultural Insurance Corporation. They will share their insights with participants on successful strategies in a highly competitive business environment. Participants will also be given practical help on how to progress their businesses, as well as how to access required financial and other resources.
