Afenifere Asks Tinubu To Give His Residence To Herdsmen

Inka Odumakin, Afenifere advertising secretary.

Afenifer condemned the National Leader of the Progressive Congress (BTR), Bola Tinuba, for advising the federal government to convert unused land into pastures.

Tinubu said that the shepherd / farmers crisis was caused not by religious or political differences, but by a lack of water.

Speaking at a peaceful forum, the former governor of Lagos asked the government to immediately transfer unused land to pastures, as this would curb the ongoing clashes between farmers and shepherds.

But in a statement on Tuesday, the group’s National Advertising Secretary, Inca Odumakin, said that the APC leader was free to play politics the way he wanted, but warned him to fight human life, making outlandish offers.

Afenifere stated that Tinubu only endorses the position of the Mithhetti-Allah cattle breeding association in order to turn the entire nation into a cattle colony.

The statement reads, in part: “We completely reject this position because it is very backward in our time and contradicts the consensus of all peace-loving Nigerians that we need to decide that the siege of shepherds on farmers should have a ranch.

“Senator Tinubu lived in very enlightened societies such as the United States and the United Kingdom; If he still lived in any of these countries, would he suggest that pastures be established at this age and time?

“We warn him that he can play his policy as he suits, but he should gently step in games with the lives of our people, making outlandish proposals on settled issues.

"Tinubu can give his residence in Bourdillon for a cattle colony, but our people will not agree to turn their land into pasture for cattle."
