Adamawa govt commends Buhari over grain donation
Adamawa State governor, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for donating truck-loads of grains to the state.
Fintiri, who spoke yesterday in Yola during the flag off of the distribution of palliatives by the minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajia Sadiya Umar Farouk, said that the Federal Government’s gesture would complement the state government’s moves to reduce hardship of vulnerable groups due to the COVID19 pandemic.
The governor, who assured the president that the palliatives would be equitably and transparently distributed to the vulnerable people, said they deserved serious assistance from the government to enable them recover from the economic crisis created by the pandemic.
While flagging off the distribution, the minister said that she was in Yola to present to the state government 100 trailers of assorted grains from the National Food Reserve, approved as palliatives for distribution to vulnerable persons affected.
